I loved this month's Meals with Friends. My guest this month was Jeanine Schinto, an old friend and long time artist in the community. Jeanine, my daughter, and I had a lovely lunch on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon.
I cooked the sushi rice about an hour before she came so it would be cooled off enough to work with when she arrived.
Then, I layout out all my ingredients.
Ready to roll.

I sliced it up with a clean warm seraded knife. I am so pleased with the Wasabi I found. It is made with three ingredients, horseradish, tumeric and spiralina. Served with soy sauce of course, and garnished with local edible flowers.
Jeanine Schinto is an artist, knitter, weaver, care-giver and friend. I am excited to commission her to knit me some custom vegan hats and neck pieces.
